DAL Food Industries Co. is the sole bottler and distributor of the Coca–Cola Company brands in Sudan and the industry leader in beverage production nationwide. It is one of the most modern and highly advanced of all Coca-Cola bottling plants across the African continent and the Middle East setting a new benchmark for industry.
The objective for this project was to upgrade the power plant which consisted five Caterpillar 3516B generators each rating 2000KVA as a standby application, and four power transformers (each 2000KVA), system controlled and run by ComAp controllers.
When the power goes off the generators will start automatically based on priority and load management of the set point program. The generators forward and reverse synchronize with the mains power utility once power has been restored and return power to the mains.
The advantage of this ComAp installation is that production has zero downtime and minimizes the cost of damaged components due to power outages as well as safe fuel consumption in the load control system when generators run only on the basis of the connected load. In addition we’re also able to monitor and control all the generators and transformers, including changing setpoints from one single point of operations. The general advantages of ComAp products are that they are safe, efficient, cost-effective, and have reliable operation.
